Cygnus™ is an industrial-grade wireless communication system based on DECT 6.0 technology. The system provides clear, continuous, secure, interference-free communication for up to 8 Users in an easy-to-use, fully portable format. With the addition of 2 Cygnus Link™ Boxes and an ethernet cable, the system can be expanded from 5 users to 8 Users in a 4 + 4 format. Without the Cygnus Link Boxes, the Cygnus system can be used among 5 users where the communication range can be up to 240m (800ft) line of sight. The system is available in two versions i.e., with or without the Belt-Packs where the latter has headsets with built-in controls and electronics.
The “Cygnus without Belt-Pack” variants come with Headsets that have built-in controls and electronics (See Images), eliminating the need for Belt-Pack units. The controls are present on the Headsets, making this variant a true Headset-to-Headset Communication system. Variants without Belt-Packs have 10+ hours of battery life whereas variants with the Belt-Packs have 15+ hours of battery life.
With the use of the Cygnus Link™, the system is expandable up to 8 users where one group of up to 4 Users may be separated from another group of up to 4 Users by using an ethernet cable for a distance of up to 1.6 km (1 mile). Again, the wireless communication range of the 4 Users is up to 240m (800ft) line of sight from each of the respective Cygnus Link™ units – (Cygnus Link Box A or B).
For difficult, non-line of sight applications, the ethernet cable can be used which allows each of the Cygnus Link™ Boxes, A & B, to be separated for a distance of up to 1.6km (1 mile) to bypass a barrier, be it in the ground or to a tunnel, inside or outside of steel or concrete buildings, etc. types of applications.
